About Care Comparison

Choosing care for yourself or someone you love is hard, often at a stressful time. Care Comparison helps you find care homes, home care, supported living, extra care housing and Shared Lives schemes near you, see what the official regulator says about each, and compare them side by side.

What we do

• Show the regulator’s latest published rating for each service, and how old that rating is.
• Let you shortlist services and compare up to four of them, then share the comparison by link.
• Work without an account. An account is optional, and only ever needs your email address: there are no passwords.

What we do not do

• We do not take money to list, rank or promote a service, and we show no adverts.
• We do not create our own scores. A regulator’s rating is shown exactly as they publish it.
• We do not track you or ask you to accept cookies.
• We do not give advice. For help deciding what kind of care is right, talk to your local council or a charity such as Age UK.

Care Comparison is independent. It is not run by, connected to or endorsed by the Care Quality Commission or any other regulator. To see how we use their data, read where our data comes from.
