Questions about care in Pembrokeshire

How many supported living services are there in Pembrokeshire?

There are 11 supported living services in Pembrokeshire registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), the regulator of social care in Wales.

How are supported living services in Pembrokeshire rated?

CIW rates each service on themes such as well-being and care and support, and gives no overall rating. 8 of them have ratings from CIW; the breakdown below counts each theme separately, in CIW’s own words. 3 have no ratings shown, because CIW has not published ratings for them yet. CIW data as at 13 October 2026. In Wales, CIW rates each service on themes, not as a whole: well-being, care and support, environment and leadership and management (the environment theme applies to care homes only). Each theme gets one of four ratings: Excellent, Good, Requires improvement or Requires significant improvement. It gives no overall rating, so we do not show one. Adult placement (Shared Lives) services are not rated. We show each rating as CIW publishes it and never turn it into a score of our own.

How do I choose a supported living service in Pembrokeshire?

Start with the help the person needs now and might need later, and shortlist a few services near the people who will visit. Check each one’s latest CIW grades and how old it is, read its latest inspection report, and where you can, visit or meet the team more than once before you decide. Ask what is included in the fees and what happens if needs change. This is general information, not advice.

Who pays for care in Pembrokeshire?

It depends on the person’s needs and finances. Some people pay for all of their own care, some get help from their council, and the NHS pays for some health care. The first step is to ask your local council for a free assessment of care needs: that is the council’s adult social care team. We do not show prices and this is general information, not advice.

How up to date is this information?

This page uses CIW data as at 13 October 2026. We check for new data from the regulator every day, and each service page shows the date of the data it uses.

Choosing supported living

Supported living is your own home, usually a flat or shared house, with support staff who help you live as independently as you can. It is often used by adults with a learning disability, autism or mental health needs.

Things to check

  • Ask who owns or rents the home, and what your tenancy rights are.
  • Ask what support is included, when staff are on site and what happens at night.
  • Ask how you are involved in planning your own support.
  • Read the latest CIW report for the care provider.

Whoever ends up paying, you can ask your council’s adult social care team for a free assessment of what help you need. Our guide explains what to expect and what to ask.
